Sea Survival

Course Overview:
An interesting and informative day, a must for all sailors and powerboat users. The course will include, safety equipment, knowledge about flares, a practical session of liferafts in a swimming pool and the prevention and treatment of hypothermia. This course will meet the RYA/DoT criteria for those seeking a commercial endorsement to their Yachtmaster Certificate.

Combined RYA First Aid, Sea Survival and VHF/SRC Radio Operator

Combined Package

Course Overview:
Save money by booking this three day package of courses which includes the RYA First Aid, RYA Sea Survival Certificates and Maritime Radio Operator Licence (Short Range Certificate).

The package provides the necessary pre-entry course requirements for those undertaking either a Coastal Skipper, Yachtmaster Offshore or Advanced Powerboat examination which may then be commercially endorsed.

Course fee: £213 (normal fees total £237) plus £25 SRC administration fee (payable to the RYA on the day for the
radio licence - need to bring passport photo for licence)

RYA/ISAF Offshore Safety Course

Course Overview:
This course satisfies the training required by ISAF Offshore Special Regulation 6.01, for category 0, 1 and some category 2 offshore races.

There are two parts to the ISAF Certificate. Day one covers heavy weather seamanship, weather forecasting, first aid, fire fighting and man overboard recovery. Day two is the Sea Survival course (see above for dates). Those who already hold a Sea Survival Certificate will not need attend the course again but will need to bring along for verification on the day. The certificate is valid for five years.

Qual: RYA Sea Survival Certificate plus RYA/ISAF Offshore Racing Crew Approved Course for Personal Survival Certificate
Course fee: £79 per day or £158 both days
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Days: Various

N.B.
Holders of commercially endorsed Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore certificates are eligible for the RYA/ISAF Offshore Safety Certificate without further training. An administration charge of £15 is made for this service. Please bring your certificates with you or post photocopies only when using this service.

Group Bookings

If you or your organisation have a particular training requirement or specific dates you would like to undertake one of our courses, a group booking may be what you are looking for. This could be arranged here at the centre or at a suitable venue nearer to your local area at a date to suit you. Bookings will be dependent on finding suitable swimming pool facilities. Please phone the Centre to discuss
