- What specialist equipment/clothing is provided?
Provided in the course cost is the hire of wetsuits, waterproofs and buoyancy aids or life jackets. All you require is a set of clothes to wear under your wetsuit or waterproofs, a towel and a pair of shoes which you do not mind getting wet. For some higher level courses candidates have an option to provide their own equipment.
- Do you sell any safety equipment?
While stocks are available we have the following in a range of sizes: wetsuit slippers, boots and fingerless gloves.
- Do you sell any publications for the courses you provide?
Yes we have a limited range of RYA Publications.
- Do you offer any discount on multi booking?
Yes we have Special offers for Dinghy Instructor Pre-entry requirements, family sailing, and shore based courses combined fees.
- Is accommodation available?
Unfortunately SWAC is non-residential, but we can provide you with a list of local accommodation on request.

All course fees are VAT exempt.
- What information will I receive on booking one of your courses?
After booking onto a course you will receive a detailed pack giving you instructions on what you will need to bring, directions of where to find us and a list of local accommodation if you are coming from out of town. For advanced course a copy of the course pre-requisites will also be included.
- Can you offer tailor made courses for any group?
Yes, our experienced staff can help you put together a bespoke package. Contact bookings on 02380 915753 or email info@swac.co.uk with your enquiry. Otherwise fill out our online enquiry form. There is a minimum age of 8 years for all activities.
- Do you offer Private Tuition?
Yes, we can offer private tuition in sailing or powerboating from complete beginner’s courses to advanced techniques beyond the RYA syllabus. Contact bookings on 02380 915753 or email info@swac.co.uk to discuss your needs.

- What activities do you offer?
We offer sailing powerboating, kayaking and raft building as well as many shore based theory classes

If we receive sufficient demand for a particular date we are able to create new course dates to fit this demand. So it is always worth giving us a ring and talking to us about your specific needs
- Do you cater for birthdays/parties?
Yes, we can arrange a day/half day of fun filled activities to create a party to remember. Although we do not provide food ourselves we can arrange for catering for the day. For parties a minimum of six participants is required.
- Is catering available?
The Centre is able to provide buffet food for corporate events and room hire on request. There are also plenty of local amenities to buy food and drink.
- Tide times?
www.easytide.com, is an easy to use website for tidal predictions up to 6 days in advance.
- Can we hire equipment/boats?
Our boats and equipment are currently not available for private hire. However, access to sailing equipment is available through the Centre’s club provision.
- Are gift vouchers available?
Yes we can offer gift vouchers for the Centre activities for full or part value.
- Is there parking available?
Yes we have ample free parking onsite.
- What is the minimum age group to be able to participate?
8 years old
- Do you have a Club and can anyone join?
From March to October we run our club sailing sessions during the day on Sundays and weekday evenings. Our experienced staff will of course always be on hand to coach and assist you both on and off the water in these supervised sailing sessions and arrange for racing to take place when appropriate. The emphasis will be on recreation, relaxation and fun rather than instruction. The club is open to participants how have completed their RYA Level 2 Basic Skills.
