A one day First Aid course providing a thorough grounding in First Aid techniques with particular reference to small craft afloat. A valid First Aid Certificate is a requirement for both the Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore examinations as well as all instructor courses, and commercial endorsements.
This is an 8 week training course designed to meet the requirements of the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) for First Aid at Work issued by the Health and Safety Commision under the provisions of the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. How to deal with emergency situations and carry out appropirate first aid with reference to incidents you are likely to come across on the water and how best to deal with them.
