OnBoard Club

ONBOARD is a club set up by the RYA to introduce young people to sailing.  Here at SWAC we have a club for our youths and are continually helping them to improve their sailing abilities.  We run instructed sessions each week and focused sessions such as racing techniques during summers, half terms and some weekends.

How you can get involved...
Our club has finished in the evenings for the winter now but sessions are still running on Sunday afternoons, 1.30pm-4.00pm.  The last club sail for this year will be 28th November and will then start up again on 6th Febuary 2011.
 

There is a joining fee and a small session fee each week.  Kit is provided and all sessions are run by fully qualified staff.  Please note you have to have completed RYA Stage three in order to join the OnBoard club.  We run stage courses at SWAC, our next courses are running during October half term as part of the youth dinghy week.

Whats coming up...
There is a race course starting soon.  This course is for OnBoard members only and is focused around race training.  Course fee £70.
The dates are:
October 9th: Starts and start line techniques.
October 16th: Racing rules.
October 30th: Upwind sailing.
November 13th: Mark rounding.
November 20th: Downwind sailing.
November 27th: Boat on boat techniques.
