Outdoor Learning and the National Curriculum

A major provision by the Centre is an educational programme of activities for schools and colleges. This includes courses across the curriculum enabling schools to offer an enriched programme for various Key Stages, personal and social development courses, enhanced citizenship curriculum and skills and coaching opportunities.

All school and college courses are bespoke and therefore tailored to the schools individual needs.

River Trips

In our fleet of powerboats we have two 10 seater 8m RIBs and ‘Merlin’ our 12 seater displacement craft.   Investigate the source of the River Itchen, industrial to residential use of the riverbanks, heights of the bridges, depths and speed of the water.  The group actively take part in the session by steering the boats, using the lead line/echo sounders for gauging the depth of the water. All waterproofs, wellingtons and lifejackets are provided. No swimming ability needed.
